How 69thingstodo got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I'm an independent artist. I started by selling stickers with my designs and then art prints. Later, I began to sell patches, pins, and t-shirts. Everything is designed by me, of course.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite item is the "Only Lovers Left Alive" pin and patch. It’s my most popular design, and unfortunately, it was also ripped off by Chinese manufacturers, so there are also cheap, low-quality copies of it. But it’s still very dear to me; it's very simple, romantic, and dark, and it combines love and death—the most powerful forces in life.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I can’t tell exactly; maybe a few weeks for my first sale. I actively use all social media to promote my work and my shop.

Managing 69thingstodo

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

It’s only me, currently things are slow and I don’t use any apps.

The future of 69thingstodo

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I moved to a new country, so unfortunately, I have to close this shop and open a new one. But I plan to sell my old popular items and also add new ones.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Don’t be afraid to promote your work everywhere, all the time. It’s very important to gain exposure, especially at the start.
