How BabyDecoreBoutique got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello everyone, My name is Elen, and I am the owner of the store BabyDecoreBoutique. The history of my store began with the birth of my daughter! I wanted to constantly take pictures of her wearing beautiful outfits and cute headbands. At first, I created beauty only for her, and then I decided to try to do something more and opened my own online store. I worked at home, and the whole apartment turned into a warehouse of ribbons, tulle, and other materials for creativity. A little later, I started renting a room for work. The whole family is involved in the life of the store; my daughter participates in photo shoots, and my husband helps with sending mail.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

One of the first creations was a little mermaid outfit for the first-year photoshoot. And these outfits are in demand.

But I really like soft skirts with pom-poms; this is a separate love. They are made of very soft tulle, and in the middle there are soft, multi-colored pompoms. Such a skirt will become a favorite piece of clothing for every little girl.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I run my store myself, and I learned all the subtleties on Etsy from scratch, so it’s difficult for me. My first sale took place a year after the store's opening. I regularly spend discounts and attract buyers with free shipping.

Managing BabyDecoreBoutique

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

At first, I did everything myself, but it was very difficult for me to cope. Therefore, I found a needlework assistant, and now we create beauty together. My husband helps me with shipping. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, it has become very difficult, but I do not relax, and I try my best to continue creating and making wonderful outfits for babies.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My goal is to stay relevant and keep up with the times.
