How Belettedolls got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello, I'm Yan, owner of the Belette Dolls store in France. I found myself unemployed, so why not try the adventure of selling my little universe? I really started on Etsy in 2016, before I was on Little Market France, which was later bought by Etsy. I am passionate about miniatures, dolls, and bears. I started by making crochet miniatures, and then, on Instagram, I was asked if I also sold clothes and accessories for the dolls I made. I am a collector of Blythe, QBaby, and other similar dolls, so I added all of these items to my store, which increased my sales. I practice crocheting, knitting, and sewing. My posts on Instagram bring me great publicity and lots of customers.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My most beautiful success is "Microbe," a small miniature doll of 56 centimeters in infinitely diversified crochet. Here I made the Princess Microbe; it stayed 5 minutes in the shop. Why do they like it? You have to ask my customers. , so small, so cute

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

My first sale was made fairly quickly, with many Little Market customers following me. Etsy has allowed me to sell internationally, which is a definite plus for me. With my part-time job and my shop, it allows me to have a reasonable income. Always believe…..

Managing Belettedolls

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage my shop on my own: tailoring, photos, shop management, purchases, accounting, shipments, social networks, etc.So it all takes a lot of time.

The future of Belettedolls

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My goals: to move forward, to create again and again... Always stay positive, and myself, I even plan to continue in retirement; I can't live without it, and I love what I do so much.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

First of all, keep informed of trends, and yes, even for dolls, there are some.

Bringing his creations to life (I have a dollhouse for the photos).

Social networks have brought me a lot of visibility. Do not hesitate to publish regularly and to take beautiful photos; it brings your page to life, makes it attractive, and brings you a lot of visibility.

If a creation does not sell, change the creation (clothes, accessories) or modify the photos.

It's not enough; be original.

Be attentive and take care of your clients; they will return it to you.

Inventiveness, novelty, regularity, staying positive, and passion
