How BigPawCremains got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello! My shop is called Big Paw Cremains, and I am dedicated to memorialising pets that have passed. I began designing keepsakes as a way to memorialise my own losses, allowing me to keep a piece of them near me forever. After realising that my services could help those in my local area, I began designing and producing for others before finally taking my skills online.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I only sell things that I love and would buy myself, but a few of my favourites would be the 4mm cremation ring, the solidified cremation memorial stones, and the 6mm gemstone ring. I believe each of these is a beautiful memento that can help those grieving.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It only took me one day to get my first sale on Etsy, which was quite the blessing. Currently, I attract customers by doing all that I can to maintain a 5-star review or star seller badge, using the best possible pictures, and advertising through Etsy ads.

Managing BigPawCremains

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage my shop myself from my studio, utilising a spreadsheet I created to help keep track of all orders and using Pirate Ship to print shipping labels.

The future of BigPawCremains

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I would love to have my shop continue to grow and expand. I will continue to add the highest possible quality products as I develop them in hopes that more of my pieces can help those in need.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

My best advice to those starting out at Etsy would be to pay close attention to shipping times, maintain customer service, and limit your quantities in the beginning so you are not overwhelmed until you determine the flow.
