How ByOStas got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My shop is filled with art that reflects my whole life. My hobbies and talents; my dreams; my joys; and sometimes even my sadness I chose this path in order to share the beauty of my inner world with everyone and tell people about my country through my work. I came to Etsy from another profession that became boring for me, and I decided to do only what I really like. Everything I create is filled with love and inspiration, and my customers feel it.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My favorite art on Etsy is original oil paintings and epoxy resin art. I am fascinated by the process of creating such works that do not require restrictions and provide an opportunity for self-expression. It is always very emotional and colorful. There is always so much positive energy that customers love. It is these products that sell well because they contain positive and deep meaning at the same time.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
My path to the first sale was not too fast. This took about 4 months. I attribute this to slightly above-average pricing. For the time being, it's enough for me to regularly add new art to the store to get sales. Most of the purchases are made by regular customers who have come back to me many times.
Managing ByOStas
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
At first, I ran my own store. Now my husband helps me with bookkeeping, clearance, packaging, and shipping. I offer my clients free shipping or express service for an additional fee at the request of the buyer. To manage the store, I use an application on my mobile phone. It is very convenient when working in the workshop. At the end of the working day, I supplement and correct the store on the computer.
The future of ByOStas
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
In the future, I want to expand my shop with new intellectual art that I am currently working on and expand the offerings to allow for custom orders.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
I would like to advise beginners not to be afraid to express their individuality. Imitating others and copying other people's ideas can only bring short-term results. Do only what you truly enjoy. Only what is made with love will resonate in the hearts of buyers. And be patient.
