How CarpentryWorkshopArt got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

My name is Nik, and I am the owner and creator of CarpentryWorkshopArt. I started this business as a way to share my passion for carpentry with the world. I have always been a creative person and have worked as a carpenter all my life. I found that I was happy when I created natural wood products and they brought me income. I made various things from wood—doors, windows, furniture, stairs, gazebos, garden furniture, and much more. One day it got boring, so I created my first wooden mug. After receiving so many compliments from my sister on my creation, I decided to open my own shop on Etsy. I'm so glad I did it. Since then, I have been able to share my products with people all over the world, and this has been a very rewarding experience. Every mug in my store is handmade with love and care, and I pride myself on creating things that are not only beautiful but also functional.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I love all my creations, but there are some that are my favorites. Here is one of them:

Trident Ukrainian coat of arms wooden beer mug, Ukrainian craftsmanship, Celtic Bierstein style, glory to Ukraine beer mug, Ukraine ornament

I love my country, and I am proud of my nation, so a mug with the coat of arms of Ukraine will always be my favorite. Unfortunately, I haven't sold any yet.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The first sale happened a week after the store opened. It was a dizzying joy. I always try to improve my marketing skills, and I do it the best I can. But recent events in our country have brought many setbacks to my work. I lost all my equipment in Mariupol. I moved with my family to a safe place and started from scratch. Now there are very few visitors, unfortunately. Everyone asks me when I can make 3D wooden mugs again. I'm trying to cash in on new equipment for this.

Managing CarpentryWorkshopArt

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I run my store completely on my own. I work with clients, process orders, do all the work, and pack and ship packages. For me, there are no standards for sending packages; I can do it in any convenient way for my clients.

The future of CarpentryWorkshopArt

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My dream now is to fully restore my workshop and continue to amaze people all over the world.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I don't consider myself an Etsy guru, but I know one thing: feel free to create bold creations, and you will definitely have everything the way you want.
