How CrystalSandTarot got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My Etsy shop is CrystalSandTarotShop. In a way, it feels like the universe wouldn’t let me walk away from the opportunity. I inherited the shop from a mentor, and I hit the ground running. I’m a big believer in spirituality, and I believe that everyone should believe in something. Energy plays a big role in life, and many seek the calming and powerful energy harnessed by the Sedona vortex! With these things in mind, I began developing products I wish I had and ones I felt were important to share. All my crystals are sourced from other Etsy sellers and charged in the Sedona Airport Vortex.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My personal pride and joy is my Rose Moon Water. This was the first product I developed. I was looking for gentle healing and immersive self-love. I have always admired the moon, and the lunar cycle gives guidance for healing and manifesting. Charged under the full moon, the moon's water is a reminder of closure and helps bring healing and severance to things that are no longer serving the user. Charged under the New Moon, the moon's water gives new life and can be a powerful tool for manifesting and creating better habits.
Being able to capture that energy and add it to a diverse vessel makes it more accessible for people and gives it multiple uses! In addition to this moon water, included are rose quartz flakes, tea tree oil, and rose petals. The simplicity and intention make this product my personal favorite. Whether I added it to other rituals, simmer pots, scent warmers, or used it as a perfume, I felt my energy shift. This product is one of my most successful, and I am endlessly grateful for that. I think it does so well because of the diversity, the intention, and the personal passion I have for it. I always think it’s important to love what you sell, and this is something I use almost daily!
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
The road to where I am now started out fairly slow; it took a couple of months to really see engagement. I used Etsy Ads, as well as various social media platforms to draw attention to my work. Pinterest worked well for me because I worked hard to make my product photography eye-catching and informative. A good way to attract repeat buyers and new customers is to give them an abundance of knowledge. My main focus for customer attraction now is my blog! This allows me to share information and makes my customers more comfortable trusting me as a source for guidance along their metaphysical journey.
Managing CrystalSandTarot
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
As of now, it’s mainly me! When I need an extra hand, my siblings are always there to lend one, which I feel extremely blessed by. I use the Etsy Seller app a lot, of course. However, I also use Wordpress for my blogging, Focusmate for accountability support, and Google Drive for organization! I use multiple social media platforms to market my content. As far as fulfillment shipping, I get a lot of my shipping material from Amazon. Then, I either ship straight through Etsy or PirateShip! I love supporting local businesses when I can, so I use my local UPS store as much as I can.
The future of CrystalSandTarot
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
Recently, I’ve done a little rebranding. There aren’t many sources of ethical and elegant metaphysics. My goal is to combine the spiritual, boho feel with a more modern and luxurious style to appeal to a broader demographic. I don’t think luxury should correlate with expense, and I strongly believe that affordable luxury metaphysics is where my passion lies. I would love to be a gateway for people at all points of their journey. I hope to be a comforting and beautiful part of more people’s access to the energy of Sedona as well as their journey through spirituality.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My best advice is to just do it. If you have a strong passion, don’t be afraid to dive in. Having a strong reason and motivator behind what you do is the key to being able to push through when things aren’t going well. Remember why you started and why you’re unique! Everyone has something beautiful to share with the world.
