How DecoMintStudio got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Hello, I’m Kinga from Deco Mint Studio. My journey with Etsy started in 2018. I quit my job and wanted to have my own small business. I love flowers, and making floral arrangements gives me a lot of joy. I set up my shop, and more and more customers started to order my items! I was so happy.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
I love hair combs, especially with gypsophila; they are natural and delicate. I also have a fondness for wreaths because I started my shop by selling wreaths. The first one was on a metal hoop with a small rose. Autumn wreaths on a wooden base look nice too! I think these products are popular because they are made from natural materials. I also use preserved eucalyptus, which looks nice for a long time.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
The first order was placed two days after opening a shop. I remember it well; it was on the 13th of February. I was surprised!
Managing DecoMintStudio
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I’ve been managing the shop for nearly 4 years. Last year I decided to have an assistant, and I found Klaudia. We do so well together, and we have a lot of ideas for new creations in the shop. I can’t wait to do them!
The future of DecoMintStudio
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
The main goal is to make new wreaths for all seasons, especially those made from natural materials. I also want to add a new product category to the shop; I am still thinking about it.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
Don’t be afraid; just try. I like this quote: "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking."- Steve Jobs
