How Dingaya got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello, my name is Inga. The story of my passion for epoxy resin began with a bouquet of flowers that my husband gave me for our 10th wedding anniversary. The flowers dried up so beautifully! I really wanted to keep the memory. There was only technical resin at home... I can’t say that the first experience was successful, but the process captured me so much that I studied all the information on the Internet and purchased everything I needed. All the flowers and plants that came into my field of vision were dried. Collected all the small natural details. And all this was filled with resin! Something about the epoxy was losing its appeal. Something, on the contrary, was revealed and bewitched. Search and learning continue every day; it is a process that cannot be stopped.

About six months later, I opened a store on Etsy. At first, there were several dozen decorations. Then the range increased. Now there are more than 350 listings. It's mostly just decorations, but recently we've started adding home decor pieces with magnetic curtain ties. Key hangers are coming soon. Part of the creation was undertaken by my husband. He processes, grinds, and polishes all products with wooden parts. I do compositing and shading.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I don't have favorite products; each one is unique in its own way. But there are materials that are especially enjoyable to work with. I love working with dandelions. This is an incredibly fragile flower. The slightest wrong move and dandelion fluffs are already spinning around you.

I also love forget-me-nots, delicate flowers that can say so much.

And when I work with mushrooms, moss, and lichens, I lose the sense of time and reality. As if dissolving in the forest worlds!

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The first sale in the store took place 3.5 months after its creation. The next one was in a week... Now there are more than 1400 sales in the store. I can't say it's a lot. But in every decoration, there is a piece of my soul and love. Epoxy resin is more of a hobby of mine. Purposefully, I do not promote the store or individual products. But I'm happy if other people like my work!

Managing Dingaya

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage the store myself; I do not use additional tools and applications. I don't have a lot of sales. My husband and son help me if needed. Perhaps I will reconsider this approach as sales increase.

The future of Dingaya

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Expansion of the assortment due to the details of home decor. Increasing sales. Sales geography expansion

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

To begin with, master the theory: the principles of the site and the requirements for the seller. And then, do not be afraid; follow your dream. Always remember that the one who goes forward will master the road!
