How DipintoAdArte got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I’ve always dedicated myself to my passion for porcelain painting, and house signs are my specialty. I've been in this business for more than 30 years, firstly owning a shop, and then, when I decided to share my passion with people all over the world to give them the opportunity to get unique and custom signs, I turned my business into an Etsy shop. Since then, I've been dedicating all my attention to my international customers, who have greatly appreciated my online presence!

Favourite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Among all my items, the Tavalera-style signs are my favourite because I really like their vibrant colors! These designs are some of my best-selling products, and I think that’s because lots of my customers live in Florida or California (or have a holiday home in Mexico, for example). These designs are perfect to give the final touch as decorative address plaques for houses in Colonial, Spanish Revival, Mission, or Mediterranean style.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I sold my first item after 4 months of hard work in 2014. After that, I started gaining visibility, and customers have been increasing since then (most of my views come from organic searches and a bit from Etsy ads).

Managing DipintoAdArte

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I’ve been running my shop all by myself since the beginning, so we can really say I'm Dipinto AdArte. The tool I use the most is Photoshop, which helps me get better pictures and helps me create my mockups. As to the shipping, I work with a local shipping company that handles all my packages.

The future of DipintoAdArte

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

The only thing I'm asking for is to grow as a business and improve my product catalog with new designs!

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

My first suggestion is to know exactly which niche you want to sell your products to. My second piece of advice is to take professional pictures of your products since they’re your "Business cards" (the first impression is what matters the most!).
