How EnchantedFandom got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I started out crafting handmade items, such as mugs, wine glasses, and socks, based on some of her favourite fandoms. I noticed there wasn't much merchandise for some of my favourite books. I always wanted items to show off my love of these stories. Eventually, I was able to reach out to authors and publishers to establish rights to sell items based on my favourite books.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favourite items have to be our wine glasses. They are beautiful, and the quotes just make me so happy! Every reader can find at least one wine glass that fits their personality.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I received my first sale within the first week of opening my Etsy shop. I think what attracted customers to my shop was that I already had a presence in the book community on Instagram, and when I showed off my glasses, people were drawn to them.

Managing EnchantedFandom

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Currently, it's just me who runs my shop. I do have a few reps on social media who help with pictures and promotion. And of course, my husband helps with packaging. We have now branched out to include bimonthly boxes. One box includes a book by an indie author with some extra goodies. And the other box is a monthly Drinking Vessel box. This includes a cup and recipe card based on a fandom each month. Both are now included on our website and can be found occasionally on Etsy.

The future of EnchantedFandom

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My only goal is to never run out of books to read so I can keep creating fun fandom items based on them.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

Just do it. When I started, I never dreamed this could lead to a job. I thought I would do it for fun. But we have grown so much over the years. Also, as I always tell everyone, you never know where this adventure will take you.
