How FaircraftUSA got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
Hi, we are Mike and Ania, owners of Faircraft and joyful parents of two little girls. (Plus, two dogs and a cat!) Originally from Poland, Ania moved to the US in 2009 after falling in love with Pennsylvania-born Mike. Before Faircraft, we held multiple positions in corporate America, but there was always that feeling that something was missing. Mike always dreamed of starting his own company, and woodworking was his passion. Our dreams came true in 2017 with the creation of Faircraft. Our lives have truly not been the same since, and we are beyond blessed to share our journey with you.
At Faircraft, we envision a world where the things we live with are thoughtfully chosen and built to last. We believe in creating functional, meaningful products with sustainability always in mind. We work with high-quality materials sustainably sourced from FSC and certified organic suppliers and use water-based and organic finishes that highlight the natural beauty of our wood. Our firm commitment to protecting the environment keeps us striving to minimize waste in every aspect of our production and shipping processes. We are so proud to design and create every product in-house. Our attention to detail is evident in every item. Our handcrafted products are modern, simple, and built with functionality. Most of all, our wish is to bring people together and spread joy.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
Our wine table was the very first product we launched on Etsy and started our business with. The first holiday season, this item was featured on BuzzFeed, and our business took off. This product was then featured on HGTV, House Beautiful, the ABC Today show twice, and others. Wine tables can be personalized and have plenty of uses outdoors, which makes them a great gift!
With the success of the wine table, we developed a similar product for beer drinkers, and it met with success as well. We often hear from customers that this is the perfect gift for a guy who has it all, but you don’t know what to get him.
Favorite gift for him! We receive endless 5-star reviews from wives, daughters, mothers, etc. letting us know how their loved ones absolutely love this gift! Customers keep coming back for this product on different occasions. Favorite groomsman gift as well!
By far my favorite Mother’s Day gift! Not only is it super functional, but the hickory wood is just beautiful. Personalizing them with custom recipes passed down by family generations or handwritten by kids makes lots of moms and grandmas happy when they receive them. We love hearing from our customers how our products bring their loved ones joy and happy tears. It is great to be a part of customers' special occasions.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It only took us 24 hours, and customers have loved it since! We use Etsy ads, coupons, and social media.
Managing FaircraftUSA
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
Currently, it is Mike and Ania, a husband and wife team. We also have 1-3 employees helping us during busy seasons with assembly and packaging. Together, Mike and Ania brainstorm ideas and design new products. Mike is the engineering and production specialist, and Ania handles sales, customer service, marketing, shipping and fulfillment, finances, and HR. We use the Etsy app, ShipStation, Quickbooks, Highlevel, and social media.
The future of FaircraftUSA
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
We love to see our products in use when we go to the beach or wineries and see people using our wine and beer tables. We want to reach even more customers, develop more products, and continue making people happy.
