How gamerdudee got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My name is Mason S, and I am the owner and founder of Gamerdudee on Etsy. We design and sell pre-made and customized t-shirts, sweatshirts, and custom mugs/wall art. I started Gamer Dude in 2023 as an eBay and Etsy shop with the intent to create a business fueled by my love of video games and of making things on the computer.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite products are our 90s Grunge Furby Shirt, along with the Carousel wall art. In my opinion, these have done so well, as its such a unique design.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It has taken me 7 months before I have sold anything. I am attracting customers to my shop through Etsy ads.

Managing gamerdudee

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I am running my shop by myself. Some of the tools I use are Canva for designing and Alura to find keywords. I am mainly using Printify for fulfillment. 

The future of gamerdudee

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
I have a lot of goals for my shop. Some of my goals are to obtain a star seller and to do Etsy full-time.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice for new Etsy sellers consists of mainly two things. My number one piece of advice is to be super active on the platform. My last piece of advice is to read the Etsy handbook before opening a store. I am saying this as I have seen too many sellers make mistakes that could have been avoided.
