How LoveAmourPropre got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My Etsy shop is LoveAmourPropre. Amour Propre® (which means "self-love in French) is in business to encourage our customers to practice self-love by experiencing the joy of utilizing natural, organic, and aromatherapeutic wellness and clean beauty products. Amour Propre®️ is a rising player in the clean skincare business market, focusing on value-added products that repair common skin care issues using natural and organic ingredients.
I began selling on Etsy because I wanted to sell clean beauty products to an engaged audience of consumers who liked handmade products. Suddenly, a pandemic hit, and my mom advised me to begin selling hand sanitizer. I found an amazing recipe for a natural hand sanitizer that worked extremely well and smelled amazingly good, and I had 110 orders the very next day. This income allowed me to expand my line to the over 300 products that I have handmade since then and offer them to the Etsy community.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
It's so hard to choose what my favorite products are because they are also important to me! My products are solution-based and created out of a need for my customers' requests. So I enjoy offering solutions that people actually use every day and find relief from. One of my best-selling products is my luxury hand lotion, Guérir, because it actually works. It's made with macadamia nut oil, avocado butter, and monoi butter. It penetrates the hands and actually softens and heals them from the outside in as it penetrates the layers of skin to heal the layers of skin underneath the surface.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
My first sale happened within my first week of posting on Etsy because I had a great following on social media and a lot of friends who wanted to support my business initially. With the start of the pandemic, it gave me more eyes on my page because I was uniquely offering a hand sanitizer that was natural, organic, and worked amazingly well compared to the others that were being offered on the site. I still get orders for my hand sanitizer even now because people really love the smell and how it makes their hands feel moisturized and clean.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I handle my Etsy shop by myself, but I enjoy doing it! I appreciate being able to handle my customer service and order fulfillment the way that I like. I treat others the way I want to be treated, and I want my customers to feel that they are as special as they are because they are the reason why I'm in business in the first place. I use the Etsy app Direct to purchase shipping and send notifications to my customers that they have an Etsy package on the way from me.
The future of LoveAmourPropre
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
My goal with my Etsy shop is to remain present and consistent because I have almost 505 5-star reviews on the site and want to expand from there. The Etsy community is very kind and appreciates handmade goods, and I will always offer amazing, clean beauty products that they can appreciate and enjoy for years to come.

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice for a new Etsy sellers is to put their products out there and be diligent with advertising their presence on Etsy. One of the keys to my success was my constant interaction with social media and Etsy. I also utilized Pinterest quite a bit to make sure that when I made my products, I linked my Etsy shop to the products that I made. I made several sales off of people who were intrigued by my creation process and wanted to try my products for themselves. These are lifelong customers now because they appreciate the hard work and process that I go through to make their handmade goods.
