How MagicSportVector got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hello! The story of my store's creation is very simple: I needed a permanent passive income. Let it not be large, but permanent. Moreover, I had experience selling my products on other trading platforms. The Etsy trading platform has more prestige than the previous trading platforms. I decided to place my products here. In the beginning, not everything worked out, and sales were small. It took about 2 years to "feel the market".

During this time, I experimented with different products and designs, trying to find a niche that would appeal to customers. Finally, I settled on a handmade iPhone case with a focus on unique designs.I create all of my products myself, using high-quality materials and paying close attention to detail. I source my materials from reputable suppliers and try to use eco-friendly and sustainable materials whenever possible. I also take inspiration from nature and incorporate natural elements into my designs. Overall, it has been a journey of trial and error, but I am proud of the products I sell and the positive feedback I have received from customers. Etsy has been a great platform for me to showcase my work and connect with a community of like-minded individuals who appreciate handmade goods.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite products are phone cases stylized as old (rare) equipment: tape recorders, cameras, and radios. In my opinion, it is unusual and attractive. At the same time, such a cover emphasizes the individuality of a person. Here are some examples:

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The first sale happened three weeks after the goods were placed. The next one had to wait even longer. But at first, there was no exact orientation; what kind of product is needed? I posted everything in a row... And only two years later did I find the exact direction. Unwanted items have been removed. Now the store presents only those products that have been sold at least several times.

Managing MagicSportVector

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

It is difficult to manage the store yourself. In addition, there is also work with other designs. My wife helps me place goods and monitor the condition of the store. She also works with delivery services. As for tools and apps, I use only built-in Etsy tools for managing my store. I find them quite convenient and easy to use. For shipping and fulfillment, we work with different delivery services depending on the country and type of product. We make sure to provide accurate information about shipping and delivery times on our product pages to avoid any confusion or disappointment from our customers.

The future of MagicSportVector 

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

You need to follow modern trends. The list of offered goods will be partially expanded. How exactly, I don't know yet. Trial products are already available. But there is still no confidence in their competitiveness. I think that if you keep up with current trends and experiment with new products, it will definitely help you attract more customers and increase sales.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

The main thing is not to lose hope and confidence. Everything will work out if you give the store a couple of hours a day. The second important criterion is the quality of the product. Here I have mentioned famous phrases. And on my behalf, I can add: show imagination and ingenuity. Without this, even the best product will be difficult to sell. And the most important thing is not to lose confidence that everything will work out. It will work!
