How PaperPassionPosh got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

PaperPassionPosh started as a passion for paper crafts and has become a community of people who share a similar love for paper flowers and crafts. In 2020, when COVID hit Dee, the shop owner was left without a job, and that's where the journey for PaperPassionPosh began. Fun fact Dee has been a scrapbooker since her 20s, and the name of her shop was YourCustomScraps. Her vision was to sell digital cut files for the scrapbooking community. Dee had a design team to display the cut files in their layouts, but as time went on, she was hit with a creative block.

One day Dee came across a video on YouTube about paper flowers, and she has loved flowers since childhood, so she right away connected. Dee took out her laptop, made a few samples on Cricut Design Space, and started to make flowers. She received a lot of compliments from her family and friends, and that's when the journey of her shop, PaperPassionPosh, began. Dee creates the products herself, and nature is her biggest inspiration. PaperPassionPosh is a shop where you will get templates that create natural-looking flowers but are easy to make for anyone with any skill set and age.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Dee's favorite products in our shop are the Penoy Template and the Paper Flower SVg bundle. The Peony has a video on YouTube that demonstrates how you can create it using simple things at home. And our Paper Flower SVg bundle includes everything you need to create a backdrop. All you need is your imagination.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took about a week to attract the first sale to our shop when we had just opened. We earned the first sale simply by waiting, as Dee was new to Etsy and unaware of how to do marketing and SEO. Now we are investing in proper SEO for our shop and some advertising through our Instagram page.

Managing PaperPassionPosh

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

Dee manages the shop with the help of her husband, Nisarg. He assists with marketing and SEO optimization. The shop is a digital shop, so it does not require shipping, but when inquiries arrive for the products, Dee answers the questions and concerns of the customers.

The future of PaperPassionPosh

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Dee's future goals are to create more templates and video tutorials for the community. We see PaperPassionPosh as the shop where everyone would go for their flower template needs, but we also build a community of crafters that share the same hobby and interest.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop? 

Our advice for a new seller would be to pick your niche and do your research. Etsy is a great place to sell, but sometimes it can get overwhelming. Doing your research will save you a lot of time and money. Most importantly, keep going and never give up!
