How Pisitta got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
A few years ago, I was an architect, and then, eight years ago, I became a mother. I decided to start my own business so I could be with my family, so I learned how to sew!
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
I started selling bibs and other accessories for babies, then continued with pillows for brides, advent calendars, and Christmas accessories.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It was tough at first. Then social networks helped me. I have three children, one of whom is a newborn, and I don't have as much time as I would like to devote to my work. I'm sure I could make better use of the Etsy tools to reach new customers, but my three little bosses take precedence right now!
Managing Pisitta
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I make everything myself. I have a room in my house for my workshop, with a sewing machine and lots of colourful fabrics! I take care of the shipping through a website. The courier comes to the house to pick up the parcels.
The future of Pisitta
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
The next target is Christmas. It's definitely the time of year when I work the most, and in fact, I start working on Christmas products in the summer. For the future, I hope it can continue to be a second job.
