How PrintableLisasPets got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

My name is Annalisa Latella, and I am the owner and founder of Printable Lisa’s Pets. I started creating and selling my products on Etsy in 2018. I create printable drawings for the nursery and overall home. I also hand create custom portraits of pets: I recreate pictures the owners send me and, using Photoshop, I make some funny portraits! black and white, colorful, or anything the owner wishes.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

I absolutely love to create custom portraits! (PrintableLisasPets-Etsy Italia) It’s special to me because I have a small dog, which I adore, and because I love the pictures that customers send me! I adore reading reactions and reviews from happy customers who can have a forever drawing of their beloved pet!

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I think I had my first few sales within a couple of days of opening my shop. I was incredulous! These days, I only get customers through SEO and Etsy ads.It also works a lot by word of mouth.

Managing PrintableLisasPets

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I have run Printable Lisa’s Pets as a solopreneur since the beginning, especially because I draw all the items and it would be really hard to delegate them to someone else! I have just a couple of tools that I use daily:

eRank: it allows me to track the estimated sales of my competitors and to search for the most used tags.
Photoshop is my go-to tool. I use it to create my items.

The future of PrintableLisasPets

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

I’d like to launch a standalone e-commerce website off of Etsy as a secondary outlet to sell my products. Obviously, I don’t want to leave Etsy, but I think I can increase my sales this way.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I recommend analyzing the market and looking for your own niche. Keep studying and specializing in your field. Be curious and don’t give up! Listen to your customers' needs and don’t be too stiff.
