How sabihup got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
My name is Sabina Hofman, and I'm the owner and founder of "Sabihup." I make unique handmade home decor, gifts, and party supplies. I started making a few wedding decorations for my friend’s wedding, and since they were a big hit, she recommended I open my own Etsy store.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My favourite items are my wedding getaway car cans. I make a few designs, and since they are fully personalizable, it is always a different experience to work on them. They sell pretty well, probably because they are cute and make a great addition to any wedding.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I made my first sale within a few months after opening my shop. Now I advertise with Etsy ads and Pinterest.
Managing sabihup
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
I’m the only person managing my store. I use Marmelead and Canva. I’m often behind on my orders since I have a full-time job and still have Etsy as my hobby with extra income.
The future of sabihup
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
I would love to expand a little bit and offer more variations of my products.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
The most important thing is patience and hard work. I spent hours and hours watching YouTube videos about Etsy. It is really important to find out what works, and it takes a lot of time. Never stop improving until it works and your item sells. Invest money to buy a high-quality camera if you can afford it. Pictures are very important. Facebook Etsy groups are also very helpful in the process of establishing a successful Etsy store.
Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
