Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

What could be better than a regular scrunchie for hair? Hair Rubber Scrunchies, UA! For years I could not buy the perfect scrunchie for my magnificent hair, so I decided to create it myself. That was the best solution. It took me a couple of months to create the perfect scrunchie bracelet. I went through a lot of materials and sizes before creating a masterpiece. Yes, it’s a masterpiece! Every scrunchie that I make, I make for myself; I put positive emotions into it. My main goal is to create high-quality, ideal scrunchies for a small price that will be practical and perfect. Scrunchies UA gum is perfect. They are used for any event: for the scrunchie, walks, dates, and weddings, and they are presented for Christmas. Using it as a bracelet that will be on your hair at any time is very practical.

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favorite items in my shop are velvet bands. They are almost eternal! I don't understand why girls like satin rubber bands more, because velvet ones are more comfortable, and in general, these rubber bands last for years.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It took me two months to make my first sale. In the very beginning, I had terrible product photos, and the quality of the description and SEO was also not great. But my hard work and faith paid off. Today is already the sixth year that I have had this case. I really love the store and the products that I make myself.

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

My husband and I work in the store. My husband helps with shipping, and I do all the other work, from product creation to sales. We deliver through Ukrposhta and other companies that have short delivery times.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

My dream is to have 10 sales a day and have wholesale buyers. But unfortunately, due to the war in my country, it is not possible now, because buyers believe that there will be problems with delivery and therefore do not buy from Ukrainians, although, in fact, there are no problems with delivery.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I would advise you to take good photos of the product, write good SEO text, and pay attention to keywords. And the most important thing is to believe that everything will work out and go toward your goal.
