How Stoffmaerchen got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

My name is Anastasiya; I am 45 years old, a mother of three, and I live in Germany. Since September 2018, I have been running my handmade shop on Etsy, which gives me the opportunity to share my passion for sewing with others, build my own brand, and inspire customers with personal and high-quality products. I sell unique school bags in 3D effect, comfortable children's clothes, door wreaths, and much more. Every single item is carefully sewn by me and is therefore unique!

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

My favourite items are school cones, because a lot of heart and soul goes into each one.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

It didn't take long until I achieved my first sale. I always try to present new designs and respond to customer wishes. Above all, it is important to me to only have products in my shop that I would also like myself.

Managing Stoffmaerchen

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I manage my shop alone. Since June 2023, I have taken on an employee because I have reached the limit of my capacity. My delivery time is always between 6 and 8 weeks because every little detail is sewn by hand.

The future of Stoffmaerchen

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

  • Reduce delivery time.
  • Increase product demand
  • Increase sales growth
  • Give even more joy to children and their parents with my work.
  • Become a really big and economically successful company.
