How TheDicetroyers got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
In fact, it was a lucky shoot with Etsy. We created our company from scratch in 2019 and at the time, were trying to figure out the best way to hit the mark and make sales. Our company specialises in accessories for board games. We design and produce our products in our warehouse in northern Italy, near Milano. Our core product is the "Setupper," , a 2.0 version of the classical organisers for board games. After a year of activity and testing, we wanted to create a new selling channel and, more importantly, be visible in the US. Thanks to advice from one of our collaborators, we got in touch with the platform and decided to try it. It was definitely simple and satisfying. We opened an account, listed our product, and went online. Well, to be honest, we were surprisingly happy. Orders started to flow gradually, especially from the USA. Two goals out of two!
After this pleasant beginning, we started to affine our shop, with better pictures and landing pages, tags and categories, and target promos (like free shipping, most loved by customers). Indeed, macroeconomic changes influence a lot of our business, but with a combination of high-quality products and focused use of Etsy marketing tools, we are constantly growing.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
We don’t have a preferred product in our shop. But many customers love our all-in-one setuppers and accessories.
This is the link to one of our best sellers. Our goal is to create a product that can really help the customer enjoy gaming, save space, and have a pleasant, detailed product.
With the all-in-one insert, we nail all the goals.
Save space, as you can insert all games and expansions in a single box, have them all organised in dedicated boxes, and last but not least, have a personalised and themed product for that.
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
It was a fast result. Orders came in less than a week. Especially us customers found our product in the store and immediately made orders. We use a combination of teaser content on the page, monthly promotions, and Etsy ads to boost our new launches and best products.
Managing TheDicetroyers
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
The Etsy store is managed by two people. One is dedicated to uploading products and filling out all the information regarding them. The other is dedicated to promo activities, analytics checks, and replying to customers.
The future of TheDicetroyers
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
Our goal is to maintain the good trend so far. As we have more than one selling channel, we need to constantly manage and find the best route to the customer. Actually, we have never used external platforms or partners to boost Etsy's performance, but we are valuing this solution for the future.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
My advice for newcomers is simple. Have in mind the pros and cons of your product and what your goals are in terms of budget and areas to cover. With good communication and clever use of the ads, results will come.
Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
