How Lianie got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

I’ve been making jewelry for more than 30 years. At the time I opened my Etsy shop, I was living in the US and selling my jewelry to other shops. I moved to Israel when my daughter was born, and I make all my jewelry with my husband in our home. We love creating new jewelry; we buy the stones, and we have a friend that does our castings. We enjoy everything else we do for ourselves. 

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

The first two items are my favorites because they sell well, and the third item is my favorite because it is a tree seed that I adore. They sell well, probably because the picture is good, or maybe because I love them; it’s all a mystery what will sell and what will not.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

I started selling right away, despite knowing nothing about online selling, and I primarily advertise on Facebook, with a little on Pinterest and Instagram thrown in for good measure. 

Managing Lianie

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?

I run the shop, and my husband makes the jewelry; I don't have any store apps. I have a routine of fixing listings, making orders, and adding new listings every day. I have the post office app for shipping.

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?

Creating new jewelry all the time, making more gold jewelry, working with precious stones

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

I add new listings every day and never give up.
