How SundayLaneStudioAU got started
Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?
I am a brand and web designer and wanted a beautiful and professional way to present my branding strategy and branding concept presentations to my clients. However, after searching Etsy and other creative platforms for the perfect templates, I could not find anything that suited my style and level of professionalism, so I decided to create my own. It then occurred to me that if I couldn't find amazing templates to use to present my work, then other designers must also face the same problem, so I decided to turn my templates and presentations into downloadable digital files that other designers could purchase and use for their own business. Now, every time I create a new template, mockup, or branding guide for my own business I also make it into a downloadable template that other designers can purchase to use.
Favorite items
What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?
My most popular listing is this iPad mockup that I made to use for a branding presentation -

However, my second most popular is my favorite listing and is also the first presentation template I created for my own business and to sell -

I would LOVE to sell more of these
Getting sales on Etsy
How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?
I received my first order very quickly - within a week or two of the first opening, and since then it has continued to grow. According to my Alura account - my revenue is up almost 300% since last quarter! I don't do anything to attract customers to my Etsy shop - I don't even have external links that lead to my Etsy shop - any link that I do give out will refer all customers to my own store on my actual website. I just use Etsy purely as a search engine for random customers to find me.
Managing SundayLaneStudioAU
How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
Yes, it's only me. Since all products I sell are digital there is nothing for me to do, just let the store run, hope that customers continue to find me, and update the store now and then with a fresh template or mockup for other designers to use. I am very lucky I have no prep work, nothing to make, nothing to ship, and nothing to fulfill since everything is digital and automatic.
The future of SundayLaneStudioAU
What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
Would love to continue to grow each year as new designers find my store.
Advice for new sellers
What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?
Be unique. Create items to sell that not many other designers are selling. Use your own personal touch to make the items stand out. My biggest advice is to invest in Alura because, without the help of this program, I would not have known how to optimize my listings, etc.
Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
