How TheWanderlustArts got started

Introduce your Etsy shop and tell us your story. How did you begin and decide on what to sell on Etsy, and how do you create your products?

Hi everyone! I am very happy to be here! My name is Denis, and I am the co-founder of TheWanderlustArts, dedicated exclusively to travel posters from all around the world. Born from my and my partner's passion to travel every corner of this planet, we have always been attracted to Etsy as a platform for exclusive products. We want to bring the memory of travels that bring indelible memories for every occasion (meetings, experiences, wedding proposals, etc.) into our and your homes, giving that touch of personalization that makes the prints unforgettable.

Favorite items

What are your favorite items? What makes these so special? Why do you think these items might be selling well?

Well, it's not easy to prefer among our creations; however, I have to say that the collection of the World Mountains and the Tokyo districts are the most successful so far. Also worth mentioning are the glimpses of Italy and France.

Getting sales on Etsy

How long did it take for you to earn your first sale and how do you currently attract customers to your Etsy shop?

The first sale will always remain etched in our minds; we opened on August 21, 2023, and it arrived after exactly 10 days. Currently, besides having posted the product once on Pinterest, the visits are organic without the use of social media, only Etsy Ads.

Managing TheWanderlustArts

How do you manage your shop? Are you running solo or do you have any team members? What tools or services do you use to run your shop and how do you handle fulfillment?
It's me and my partner Emma; we share tasks well in synergy.I manage the store first with Alura to sort and improve titles, descriptions, and tags. The tool that generates a short video is very useful; it is generated in not even 30 seconds! The shipments we rely on are classic print-on-demand but with quality prints with heavy paper.

The future of SmartOtterDesign

What goals do you have for your shop in the future?
They are definitely to expand the offerings with new types of illustrations and new, different motifs always related to countries, travels, and their recognizable traditions.

Advice for new sellers

What’s your advice for a new seller starting an Etsy shop?

My advice may seem trite or obvious, but it is the best advice you will ever hear: “Never give up.”

Try and try again, and if you don't see results right away, don't listen to the little voice in your head that makes you discouraged; adapt and be patient; enjoy the journey.

Some sellers really get inspired by hearing numbers. Feel free to share these if you like.
